Top's done!
I've deviated from Bonnie's plan by putting the red strings to the light stars and also by using a darker frame. I'm fairly sure Bonnie doesn't mind, and I love it. Today I picked up some pinky mauve double width backing from
Patchwork Angel (and it was on sale!) and once that's washed it's all off to the
Quilting Fairy. Woohoo!
Before you go, hop on over to
Quiltville to see what everyone else has been doing with their Orca Bay mystery.
I love the alternate setting. It really has a lot of movement, and I love your reference to the 'quilting fairy'. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteI set mine like this too, I like the big black stars. Love the pink instead of red too
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning!! Congrats on getting the top done and a sale-priced backing :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love how you made it "your own" by changing the setting and I love the dark border. I may borrow that idea for my quilt if I ever get that far!
ReplyDeleteI love the changes you made. Another lovely Orca Bay treasure.
ReplyDeleteI like your setting too! I tried to "solve" the "mystery" around Christmas time - and set my red geese to frame the white/neutral blocks - another example of great minds thinking alike. ;))
